The first weekend of the season was littered with goals with Mohamed Salah bagging a hat-trick and Jamie Vardy scoring twice from the penalty spot.

There were several encouraging debuts. Willian assisted in all three of Arsenal's goals at Fulham; Timothy Castagne began his Leicester City career with a shutout and a goal against West Brom, while Allan shone as Everton picked up three points against Tottenham.
