Atletico Madrid will be looking to build some momentum in their Champions League campaign as they take on Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia on Tuesday.

Diego Simeone's recovered from 2-1 down in their previous Group A game against Red Bull Salzburg to win 3-2 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, thanks to a second-half brace from Joao Felix.

It was a vital boost for the La Liga side after they were humbled 4-0 by reigning champions Bayern Munich in their opening match.

Lokomotiv have taken one point from their opening two games after drawing with Red Bull Salzburg and then losing 2-1 at home to Bayern.

On the domestic front, Atletico remain one of only seven teams still unbeaten in Europe's 'Big Five' leagues, alongside the likes of Milan, Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen.

They sit third in La Liga after six games – one point behind second placed Real Madrid and two shy of table-topping Real Sociedad, both of whom Atletico have games in hand over – conceding just two goals along the way, scoring 13.

Striker Luis Suarez, their summer signing from Barcelona, has made an instant impact scoring four times in seven games – although he has yet to find the target in the Champions League.

Lokomotiv sit seventh in the Russian Premier League having lost their previous two games.
