Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann were among the Barcelona players put through their paces in a training session on Friday as the club prepares for Sunday's friendly with Arsenal. Ernesto Valverde oversaw the training session in Barcelona as the La Liga champions continue their preparations for the start of their title defence. Suarez only rejoined the squad this week, having missed the Asia trip, due to his commitments with Uruguay at the Copa America in June and July. Captain Lionel Messi is still not back at the club, though he is expected to return this week. The friendly with Arsenal, at Camp Nou, is for the Joan Gamper Trophy, and is the first chance for home fans to see Barca in action since the end of the 2018/19 season. The game kicks off at 10pm UAE time. Barca then head to the United States to play Napoli on August 7 in Miami, before playing the Serie A side again on August 10 in Michigan. Their opening La Liga game is on August 16 at Athletic Bilbao, although that time may change due to a row in Spain over TV scheduling.
