Without the coronavirus pandemic, the players would have embarked on a victory parade through the streets of Liverpool this week. Instead, they were working out in preparation for a return to action in June, when two more wins from their remaining nine games will guarantee the silverware. Among the Liverpool stars going through their paces were star forward Mohamed Salah, captain Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and wing back Andy Robertson. It took a global health emergency to halt Liverpool’s title charge. Jurgen Klopp’s team had surged an unprecedented 25 points clear of Manchester City before the league was abruptly suspended in March. The Premier League has government backing to pursue playing again in a month, and approved group training from Monday.
