In a match that was billed as Lionel Messi v Cristiano Ronaldo, it was the Portuguese star that came out on top as Juventus claimed a 3-0 win over Barcelona at Camp Nou to qualify top of Champions League Group G. Having lost the reverse fixture 2-0 in Turin, and with Barca leading the group by three points, Juve needed to better that result on Tuesday to leapfrog the Catalans on a superior head-to-head record. Ronaldo, 35, got Juve's bid underway with a 13th-minute penalty, before United States international Weston McKennie made it 2-0 with a superb acrobatic finish after 20 minutes. Early in the second half, Ronaldo slotted home his second penalty to give Juventus the advantage in the group standings. As for Messi, it was another frustrating night for the Argentine, who was restored to the starting lineup having been rested for Barca's previous two Champions League outings.
