Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero are back from injury and are in contention for Sunday's League Cup final, manager Pep Guardiola said as the club target a fourth victory in a row when they play Tottenham Hotspur. De Bruyne hobbled off during City's FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea with an ankle injury last weekend while Aguero has not played since early March due to niggles and a muscle problem. "Both [are ready], they trained today," Guardiola said. "Today was the first training session in two weeks (for Aguero). Tomorrow we have the last training session and then we are going to decide." Guardiola's first trophy with City was the League Cup in 2018 and he has won it three years in a row since. Though the competition is not a high priority for other managers who usually play second string squads, the Spaniard has always taken it seriously. "We cannot deny the Champions League is close and the Premier League is not over and they are more important. But we want to win this competition," Guardiola said. "For Tottenham, it will be their first title in years and their commitment will be incredible and the quality of their players is extraordinary." The League Cup was Spurs' last trophy when the London side won it in 2008. Tottenham, however, have other things on their mind. Striker Harry Kane is in a race against time to be fit for Sunday's match after he missed training on Friday. Kane suffered an ankle injury against Everton last Friday and missed the midweek win over Southampton, with interim boss Ryan Mason unsure whether his talisman will be fit. "We are not sure yet, he didn't train with the team today but we will have more of an idea tomorrow if we can get him back on the pitch," he said. "It is a case of taking it hour by hour now, days are running out. We will have to assess it later tonight and tomorrow morning and see if we can get him out on the pitch." Mason said it will be a combined decision on whether Kane is selected and that the England captain will not risk his longer-term fitness. "Harry is a top professional. We're taking it hour by hour, seeing how he feels," he said. Tottenham will be hoping Mason gets the job done following the sacking of Jose Mourinho. Mourinho was relieved of his duties on Monday following a disappointing run of form which has seen Spurs drop out of the race for the top four.
