Jose Mourinho 17-month tenure in charge at Tottenham Hotspur ended on Monday with the club announcing they had sacked the Portuguese. Mourinho, 58, replaced Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs head coach in November 2019 but has struggled to get the best out of a squad that reached the 2019 Champions League final. Spurs are currently seventh in the Premier League and in danger of missing out on a top-four finish. They were knocked out of the Europa League at the last-16 stage last month. Mourinho's last match in charge was Friday's 2-2 Premier League draw against Everton. The North London club contest Sunday's League Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley hoping to clinch a first trophy since 2008.
