Fawaz Awana netted an injury time winner for Baniyas to keep the pressure on leaders Al Jazira in the Arabian Gulf League. Baniyas snatched a 3-2 victory at home to Al Nasr in to take their tally to 42 points, two behind the top team in matchweek 20. Mehdi Abeid put Nasr ahead in first half added time before Joao Pedro levelled after the break. The visitors regained the lead through Portuguese midfielder Toze, but Sultan Al Shamsi netted the equaliser three minutes from time before Awana struck to seal the win and set-up an intriguing clash with Al Ain at the Hazza bin Zayed stadium on Tuesday. Al Ain returned to winning ways with an impressive 4-0 thumping of Al Wahda 4-0 at the Al Nahyan stadium, lifting them them to sixth spot, but 10 points behind the leaders. Laba Kodjo opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Caio Canedo added a second five minutes. Khalid Al Blooshi stretched the lead on the half-hour mark and Wahda were reduced to 10 men after Ahmed Rashid was sent off for a second booking in the 74th minute. The visitors capitalised to add a fourth through Kodjo two minutes from time. Kalba rallied from a goal down to clinch a 2-1 win over Dhafra at the Ittihad Kalba stadium. Makhete Diop gave the visitors the lead shortly before half time but Kalba piled on the pressure to level the scores through Romulo Dos Santos after 64 minutes. Pedro Conde then turned the ball into his own net in the 84th minute to hand the home side the victory.
