Manchester United kicked off this Premier League weekend by defeating title rivals Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at Old Trafford. The performance and result means two United defenders have made this week's team.

Similarly, the defensive solidity of Stoke City in their 1-0 win at in-form Watford ensures a place for their captain in defence.

Arsenal's fan favourite wing-back completes the back-line after his display in the victory over Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium.

The goalkeeper berth is filled by England's No 1 for his part in West Ham United's 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

Central midfield is occupied by a goal-scorer from Manchester City, who continued their fine form with a 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion, and Brighton and Hove Albion's chief-creator who excelled in the home draw against Southampton.

Chelsea's Belgian winger takes the left flank after he starred and scored the only goal of the game in the win at Bournemouth. The opposite flank is taken by a recalled Leicester City player for his role in the win over Everton, the club's first game under new manager Claude Puel.

In attack, Crystal Palace's Ivorian forward claims one berth for his 97th minute equaliser against West Ham, while Liverpool's hard-running Brazilian completes the team for his goal in the 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
