Champions League final: Manchester City and Chelsea stars' previous best appearances - in pictures

Manchester City lock horns with Chelsea on Saturday for the right to be crowned champions of Europe.

It will be the third all-English Champions League final, Chelsea having been involved in the first when they lost on penalties to Manchester United in Moscow in 2008. Two years ago, Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.

Few players who will line up in Porto on Saturday will know what it's like to play in a European Cup final.

Only two - Ilkay Gundogan of City and Thiago Silva of Chelsea - have played in a Champions League final before. Both ended up on the losing sides.

One player involved has three winner's medals but has never played in a final.

City manager Pep Guardiola and Chelsea counterpart Thomas Tuchel both know what it takes to reach a Champions League final.

Guardiola guided Barcelona to two titles (2009, 2011), while Tuchel was in charge of Paris Saint-Germain when they lost last season's showpiece to Bayern Munich.

This is the clubs' fourth meeting of the season, with Chelsea having won two of the previous three, including a 2-1 victory at the City of Manchester Stadium on 8 May at the end of the week in which both teams reached this final.
