Ali Mabkhout helped himself to a hat-trick as Al Jazira moved joint-top of the Arabian Gulf League table with a 6-0 thumping of Kalba on Sunday. Abdulla Idrees put Jazira ahead in the fifth minute, before Mabkhout doubled their lead five minutes later. Khalfan Mubarak sent a curling left footer from outside the area to make it 3-0 on 21 minutes before Khalifa Al Hammadi added a fourth before halftime. Mabkout needed just six minutes after the restart to net his second and completed his hat-trick in injury time to move on top of the league’s scoring charts with 14 goals. Jazira remain in second place behind champions Sharjah, level on 36 points but trailing on head-to-head record. In the other games, Fabio Lima netted a late goal to hand Al Wasl a 1-0 win over Al Nasr in the Dubai derby at Al Maktoum stadium The Brazilian broke the deadlock when he scored the winning goal for the visitors with a perfect volley in the 76th minute for his 10th goal of the season. Fujairah capitalised on their numerical advantage to come from behind to down nine-man Al Dhafra 4-2 at home. The visitors opened the scoring with a penalty from Pedro Conde in the eighth minute and the Spanish forward doubled the lead on 35 minutes with another penalty. Kristiano Samuel closed the gap for Fujairah before the break, the Swede finding the net off a rebound. Dhafra suffered a huge blow when Issam El Adoua was sent off in the 57th minute and goalkeeper Abdulla Sultan was shown a red card two minutes later. The home side took advantage by equalising through Ahmed Suliman just past the hour mark and Samuel scored his second of the match to put Fujairah ahead five minutes later. Substitute Ali Eid rounded off Fujairah’s win five minutes into injury time to raise his team’s tally to 10 and keep them a point ahead of the drop zone.
