Mumbai City clinched their first Indian Super League title on Saturday, a little over a year after being taken over by the owners of English Premier League giants Manchester City. India midfielder Bipin Singh scored a 90th-minute winner to edge out ATK Mohun Bagan 2-1 in the ISL final played behind closed doors in Goa. It capped a stunning double for Mumbai after they also finished top of the regular season to clinch a place in this year's Asian Champions League. Sergio Lobera's side are only the second team to complete the double by going on to win the four-team finals after Bengaluru FC in 2019. City Football Group picked up a 65 per cent stake in Mumbai City in November 2019 to add to their stable of seven other clubs, including Manchester City, who have won the Premier League four times since they were bought by the company in 2008. City Football Group's majority shareholder is Abu Dhabi United Group, the investment company owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and fund manager Bimal Parekh also own a 35 per cent stake in Mumbai, who joined the Indian Super League when it began in 2014. All 11 Indian Super League teams were confined to separate biosecure 'bubbles' for the seventh edition of the tournament played across three venues in Goa because of the coronavirus pandemic. Mumbai City said right-back Amey Ranawade was stable and under observation in a hospital after suffering a concussion during the side's victory on Saturday. Mumbai had to endure anxious moments when Ranawade was injured in a clash with ATK Mohun Bagan's Subhasish Bose. The defender was taken to a hospital after receiving treatment on the pitch and Mumbai later tweeted that he was "completely stable" and that his scan results were normal.
