Premier League predictions: double joy for Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool all square

We pick out the winners and losers from the midweek fixtures

WEDNESDAY - Brighton v Tottenham (11.45pm): Spurs find themselves back down in eighth place after their narrow defeat to Manchester United on Saturday. They now take on a Brighton side whose promising season is unravelling fast after losing five in a row - scoring once along the way. Prediction: Brighton 0 Spurs 2. Reuters

Arsenal v Liverpool (12.15am): A potential cracker at the Emirates. The Gunners are sitting fourth in the table after five wins on the spin. Liverpool are in even better form following eight victories in a row and can cut Manchester City's lead at the top down to one point if they take the honours here. Prediction: Arsenal 2 Liverpool 2. THURSDAY - Everton v Newcastle (11.30pm): A huge game for Everton, who have lost four in a row and sit outside the bottom three only on goal difference. Newcastle saw their unbeaten run this year come to an end at Chelsea on Sunday but sit nine points above the drop zone. Prediction: Everton 1 Newcastle 2. Reuters

FRIDAY - Wolves v Leeds (midnight): Wolves have regained some momentum in their bid to secure European football next season with two wins on the trot, leaving them seventh in the table. Leeds ended a miserable run of six defeats in a row by beating Norwich on Sunday. Prediction: Wolves 3 Leeds 1. PA

SATURDAY - Aston Villa v Arsenal (4.30pm): The second game in three days for Arsenal - and a tricky one at that. Villa lost narrowly at West Ham last time out, ending a run of three wins on the spin that had seen Philippe Coutinho taking centre stage for Steven Gerrard's side. Prediction: Villa 1 Arsenal 1. SUNDAY - Leicester v Brentford (6pm): Ivan Toney's five goals have helped Brentford win their last two games and dragged them away from the bottom three. Consistency continues to be a problem for Leicester that will not be helped by Jamie Vardy's latest injury blow. Prediction: Leicester 1 Brentford 2. Getty

Tottenham v West Ham (8.30pm): A London derby between two teams both with aspirations of Champions League football next term. The Hammers came out on top the last time the pair met in the league when Michail Antonio scored the winner. Prediction: Tottenham 2 West Ham 1. Getty

The Premier League starts a final run of fixtures this week before club football takes a break for a round of international matches.

Table-topping Manchester City gave a boost to second-placed Liverpool on Monday night when Pep Guardiola's side were held to goalless draw by Crystal Palace.

The Merseyside club can crank up the pressure on City – but first they have to overcome in-form Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday. The Gunners' North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur play on the same night, taking on Brighton & Hove Albion on the south coast.

Thursday sees Frank Lampard's struggling Everton tackle a revitalised Newcastle United at Goodison Park while, 24 hours later, Wolves will be looking to continue their push for a European place at home to Leeds United.

Arsenal are back in action on Saturday when they travel to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa, while Sunday sees Leicester City against Brentford at the King Power Stadium and Spurs entertain London rivals West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
