Paris Saint-Germain fans were delighted as Lionel Messi was paraded before them on Saturday, before his new side's Ligue 1 clash against Strasbourg. The Parc des Princes reverberated to a chorus of “Leo Messi, Leo Messi” as the smiling Argentine great raised his hands in acknowledgement, days after he completed a sensational switch from his beloved Barcelona. He was joined on the podium by PSG's four other summer signings: Italy’s Euro 2020 star goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, Netherlands captain Georginio Wijnaldum, former Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi, and Messi's La Liga nemesis Sergio Ramos. All were accorded loud ovations, but none matched Messi's. PSG fans will have a wait a little while longer to see their new hero in action, however. He has only just returned from an extended holiday after helping Argentina win the Copa America in July, and is not yet match fit.
