Eli Manning upbeat about taking on the Raiders

The New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who has been listed as "day-to-day" after being sidelined with a sore foot in the fourth quarter of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs, is optimistic about being able to play against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Manning left the game against Kansas complaining of a sore heel after dropping back to pass. "It doesn't feel any worse today than it did yesterday," Manning said on Monday. "I think that's a good sign and hopefully it gets better every day. I think it's just time and ice and some treatment here and being at home ... my goal is [by today] to be practising and get out there and not be restricted." sports@thenational.ae
