Hosts hold their nerve to win T20 series decider by four wickets in Lahore

PAKISTAN T20 SERIES RATINGS: Mohammad Rizwan - 9. Player of the series for Pakistan in more ways than one. Scored a century and a fifty at the top of the order, while maintaining a strike rate of close to 150. Absolutely on top of his game in white and red ball cricket. AFP

Mohammad Nawaz - 9. A perfect T20 player - accurate left-arm spin, good fielder and handy bat. Bowled 10 overs across three matches, picked up three scalps and gave away just 61 runs. Plus in the decider, smashed 18 from 11 balls in a tense chase. EPA

Hasan Ali - 8. Played one game in the series, the decider, but made a massive impact. Topped 90mph with the ball, picked up 2-29 from his four overs and then sealed the series by smashing 20 from just seven balls during the chase. Pakistan were in trouble with 28 needed from 18 but Hasan ended the contest by hitting two sixes in the penultimate over. AFP

Usman Qadir - 8. The leg spinner looks the real deal. Being the son of a legendary leg-spinner like Abdul Qadir has its own pressures, but Usman showed remarkable control and variations to make his mark in the series. His series return of 4-76 from 11 overs across three innings was exceptional. His natural pace and googly will be a real handful. AP

Shaheen Afridi - 7. A real workhorse for Pakistan. The left-arm quick went for 7.5 an over in the three games and even bowled a maiden over. EPA

Babar Azam -7. After two failures, scored a match-winning 44 while chasing 165 in the decider. A well planned Test and T20 series win for the captain. AFP

Faheem Ashraf - 6.5. Defended 19 runs in the final over in the first T20 but was taken to the cleaners in the third as David Miller took 25 runs off him in the last over. Batted well in the second T20. AP

Haider Ali -5. Reached double digits with the bat in all three games but couldn't get going. AFP

Iftikhar Ahmed - 4. Surely Pakistan have seen enough of the 30-year-old. 24 runs from 29 balls in the middle order in T20s is just not good enough. EPA

Khushdil Shah -4. As slow as Iftikhar, scoring just 27 runs from 30 balls across two matches. AFP

Hussain Talat - 3. Looked out of sorts in all three matches against the wrist spin of Tabraiz Shamsi. Just 23 runs from three games. AP

Haris Rauf -4. Was extremely expensive in the first two T20s, going for nearly 12 runs an over. For a T20 specialist, not good returns. AFP

Zahid Mahmood - 6. The leg-spinner made his T20 debut at the age of 32. Picked up three wickets in the decider, but went for 40. AP

Pakistan continued their excellent form at home when they defeated South Africa by four wickets in the third T20 against South Africa to take the series 2-1.

Hasan Ali hit two sixes in the penultimate over to take Pakistan past the finish line in Lahore on Sunday as the hosts overhauled a 165-run target. It was South Africa's first T20 series defeat in Asia, while Pakistan celebrated their Test series sweep with a hard-fought T20 triumph.

"It was a complete team effort," said Pakistan captain Babar Azam. "We did well to reach the target with some good batting in the late overs. This series win will help us progress as a team."
