Royal Challengers Bangalore lost to Delhi Capitals in their final league phase match but still qualified for the IPL 2020 playoffs on Monday. Delhi fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada took five wickets between them as they restricted Bangalore to 152-7. Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane then scored half-centuries as Delhi finished their chase in 19 overs to be placed behind table-toppers Mumbai Indians. Virat Kohli's Bangalore made it to the playoffs despite their six-wicket defeat in Abu Dhabi. "It's a mixed bag. You come to games to try and get a result your way," said Kohli. "I think we've played good enough cricket in this tournament to qualify. We can be more brave in the back end, probably be better in the powerplay which has been our strength." It was a satisfactory day for Kohli as his wife and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma cheered on the team from the stands. Delhi will face Mumbai in the first qualifier on Thursday and the loser of that match will get another chance in the second qualifier to enter the final on November 10. Bangalore will meet either Sunrisers Hyderabad, who need to win this season's last league game against Mumbai on Tuesday to book their last-four spot, or Kolkata Knight Riders in the eliminator on Friday.
