• CHENNAI SUPER KINGS RATINGS: Sam Curran – 4. The merit behind his promotion to the top of the order has to be questioned, as he took 25 balls to make 22. His confidence with the ball and in the field looked sapped, too. Sportzpics for BCCI

Jos Buttler hit an unbeaten half-century as Rajasthan Royals kept their playoff hopes alive with an easy win over Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi.

Buttler and Steve Smith shared an unbroken stand worth 98 as they hauled in a victory target of just 126 with seven wickets and 15 balls to spare.

Chennai’s batting effort was entirely featureless as they ambled to 125-5 off 20 overs, with Rajasthan’s leg-spinners – Shreyas Gopal and Rahul Tewatia – taking two for 32 between them from eight.

The win puts Rajasthan up to fifth in the table, two points behind Kolkata Knight Riders, albeit having played a game more.
