Chennai Super Kings had something to cheer about as they eased past Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight wickets in Dubai on Sunday. Captain Virat Kohli (50 from 43 balls) and AB de Villiers (39 off 36) held Bangalore's innings together but they consumed too many deliveries in the process. The Royal Challengers could only post 145-6, with Chennai's left-arm seamer Sam Curran picking up 3-19. In reply, Chennai did not struggle at any stage. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad (65) kept the asking rate down as the Super Kings reached the target with eight balls and as many wickets to spare. It was a much-needed win for the Super Kings who have struggled throughout IPL 2020 in the UAE; this was their fourth victory in 12 games. They are still languishing in second last position on the points table. Kohli's Bangalore, on the other hand, are comfortably placed in the third spot. Kohli's wife and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma was at the Dubai stadium on Sunday to cheer the team.
