The men's world No 1, Ma Long – coming off a <a href="http://www.thenational.ae/sport/other-sport/table-tennis-xu-xin-tops-ma-long-to-win-ittf-world-tour-grand-finals">runner-up finish at the ITTF World Tour Grand Finals</a> – and the women's world No 1, Liu Shiwen, were joined by Zhang Jike and Li Xiaoxia on the Burj Al Arab helipad on Tuesday. The group had already been promoting the game in Dubai, <a href="http://www.thenational.ae/sport/chinese-table-tennis-champions-launch-free-ping-pong-tables-in-parks-across-dubai">setting up tables in parks across the city last week.</a> The Burj Al Arab's private helipad has doubled as a sport ground before, with the Chinese table tennis players joining a growing list of sportsmen to show off their skills on the building, including <a href="http://www.thenational.ae/lifestyle/time-frame-tiger-woods-on-top-in-dubai">Tiger Woods</a> and former <a href="http://www.thenational.ae/sport/video-red-bull-racing-celebrates-in-style-on-burj-al-arab-helipad">F1 driver David Coulthard</a>. "It was a great privilege for me and my teammates to follow in the footsteps of sporting greats like Roger Federer and Tiger Woods. Playing on the Burj Al Arab was an unforgettable experience and the view of Dubai was incredible," Long Ma said. Dubai sponsors the Chinese National Table Tennis team.
