Portsmouth have swooped for Manchester City defender Tal Ben-Haim on a four-year deal, subject to a work permit. The 27-year-old Israel centre-back arrives at Fratton Park with a point to prove following disappointing spells at Chelsea and City. A successful three-year stint at Bolton attracted the attention of the Blues in 2007 but he lasted just one year in west London before leaving for Eastlands. Ben-Haim made only 15 appearances for Mark Hughes' side before being farmed out on loan to Sunderland in February. Portsmouth are rooted to the foot of the Premier League following four successive defeats, but Ben-Haim is determined to help them climb the table. "I'm very happy to be here at Pompey," he told the club's official website. "It's a big challenge because after four games we have no points, but I'm ready for the challenge. "I want to help Pompey get some good results and take them to the position where they belong. "We've brought a few players in now and I believe that we can turn things around and win some games. "I've watched a few of the games and we've been unlucky to get beaten in all of them. That's why I'm confident that we can improve quickly. "I've come here to give 100 per cent in each game and no less. I'm sure that's the same for all the lads. "I'm sure that every player who goes on the pitch will play with his heart which is the most important thing for the fans." Earlier today, Portsmouth captured 25-year old midfielder Hassan Yebda on a season-long loan from Benfica. Yebda joined Benfica from Le Mans last summer and established himself as a regular squad member under Quique Sanchez Flores last term. The 25-year-old former France youth international has a contract with the Lisbon club until 2012.

Where to buy art books in the UAE
There are a number of speciality art bookshops in the UAE.
In Dubai, The Lighthouse at Dubai Design District has a wonderfully curated selection of art and design books. Alserkal Avenue runs a pop-up shop at their A4 space, and host the art-book fair Fully Booked during Art Week in March. The Third Line, also in Alserkal Avenue, has a strong book-publishing arm and sells copies at its gallery. Kinokuniya, at Dubai Mall, has some good offerings within its broad selection, and you never know what you will find at the House of Prose in Jumeirah. Finally, all of Gulf Photo Plus’s photo books are available for sale at their show.
In Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi has a beautiful selection of catalogues and art books, and Magrudy’s – across the Emirates, but particularly at their NYU Abu Dhabi site – has a great selection in art, fiction and cultural theory.
In Sharjah, the Sharjah Art Museum sells catalogues and art books at its museum shop, and the Sharjah Art Foundation has a bookshop that offers reads on art, theory and cultural history.

Dubai works towards better air quality by 2021
Dubai is on a mission to record good air quality for 90 per cent of the year – up from 86 per cent annually today – by 2021.
The municipality plans to have seven mobile air-monitoring stations by 2020 to capture more accurate data in hourly and daily trends of pollution.
These will be on the Palm Jumeirah, Al Qusais, Muhaisnah, Rashidiyah, Al Wasl, Al Quoz and Dubai Investment Park.
“It will allow real-time responding for emergency cases,” said Khaldoon Al Daraji, first environment safety officer at the municipality.
“We’re in a good position except for the cases that are out of our hands, such as sandstorms.
“Sandstorms are our main concern because the UAE is just a receiver.
“The hotspots are Iran, Saudi Arabia and southern Iraq, but we’re working hard with the region to reduce the cycle of sandstorm generation.”
Mr Al Daraji said monitoring as it stood covered 47 per cent of Dubai.
There are 12 fixed stations in the emirate, but Dubai also receives information from monitors belonging to other entities.
“There are 25 stations in total,” Mr Al Daraji said.
“We added new technology and equipment used for the first time for the detection of heavy metals.
“A hundred parameters can be detected but we want to expand it to make sure that the data captured can allow a baseline study in some areas to ensure they are well positioned.”
