ARGENTINA 2 IVORY COAST 1
Argentina: Ibanez 6', Moreira 33'
Ivory Coast: Kessie 78'
Man of the match: Joaquin Ibanez (Argentina)
SHARJAH // Argentina maintained their hopes of a first Fifa Under 17 World Cup title after quelling a late rally by Ivory Coast to advance to the semi-finals.
The South Americans were ahead after just six minutes when Joaquin Ibanez, the roving wing-back, escaped his marker at the far post and coolly finished under the body of goalkeeper Seck Diabagate.
The African side actually controlled most of the possession and had the majority of attempts on goal in the first half.
However, they failed to unduly worry Augusto Batalla, the goalkeeper and captain for Argentina, and the arrears were soon doubled.
On 33 minutes Ivory Coast made a hash of attempting to clear a corner and an unopposed Rodrigo Moreira bundled in Argentina’s second.
The Argentines appeared to be in complete control until the concession of a harsh penalty with 12 minutes left.
Leandro Vega was adjudged to have handled when he appeared to be defending himself against a cross, and Frank Kessie, the Ivorian captain, despatched the spot kick.
Kessie was at the centre of the late siege, but the Argentines, who are chasing a first title at this level in 11 attempts, were able to resist to seal a place in the last four.

What is safeguarding?
“Safeguarding, not just in sport, but in all walks of life, is making sure that policies are put in place that make sure your child is safe; when they attend a football club, a tennis club, that there are welfare officers at clubs who are qualified to a standard to make sure your child is safe in that environment,” Derek Bell explains.

Trump has so far secured 295 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press, exceeding the 270 needed to win. Only Nevada and Arizona remain to be called, and both swing states are leaning Republican. Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.
Popular Vote Tally
The count is ongoing, but Trump currently leads with nearly 51 per cent of the popular vote to Harris’s 47.6 per cent. Trump has over 72.2 million votes, while Harris trails with approximately 67.4 million.

From Europe to the Middle East, economic success brings wealth - and lifestyle diseases
A rise in obesity figures and the need for more public spending is a familiar trend in the developing world as western lifestyles are adopted.
One in five deaths around the world is now caused by bad diet, with obesity the fastest growing global risk. A high body mass index is also the top cause of metabolic diseases relating to death and disability in Kuwait, Qatar and Oman – and second on the list in Bahrain.
In Britain, heart disease, lung cancer and Alzheimer’s remain among the leading causes of death, and people there are spending more time suffering from health problems.
The UK is expected to spend $421.4 billion on healthcare by 2040, up from $239.3 billion in 2014.
And development assistance for health is talking about the financial aid given to governments to support social, environmental development of developing countries.
