Allmed and Dubai Hawks in Sharjah Ramadan Cup collision course

Allmed will meet Dubai Hawks in the quarter-finals of the Sharjah Ramadan Cup on Thursday night after booking their spot in the last eight with an eight wicket win over Ramada Ajman.

Alubond Tigers will take on Multiplex International, Red Flower Tourism will meet NTDE, while UBL will clash with NMC in the other quarter-finals, with the first two matches being played on Wednesday night.

Mohammed Ummer was Allmed’s star performer, taking four wickets for 11 from his three overs to help restrict Ramada Ajman to 132 for nine despite Mohammed Aqeel’s (65) battling half century and his 71-run partnership for the third wicket with Zaman Attari (20).

Chasing a modest target, Allmed crossed the line in 14.2 overs, losing only two wickets, with Mohammed Qasim smashing an unbeaten 63 and adding 66 runs for the third wicket with Ayoub Inayat (38 not out).

In the second match of the night, Abdul Rahman and Hidayat Ur Rahman took three wickets each to lead Sewa CC to an eight wicket win over Khaleej Times.

Opting to bat first, Khaleej Times were four down for 26 and were eventually bundled out for 78 with Abdul Rahman (3-15) and Hidayat Ur Rahman (3-13) being the wreckers in chief, and Riyaz Khalid picking 2-7. Sewa then reached their target in only 7.5 overs.

In the Al Dhaid Ramadan Cup, which is also organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, Laxman Manjrekar’s superb all-round performance saw Passion CC defeat YTCA by 36 runs.

Opening the innings, Manjrekar first blazed his way to a 34-ball 78 (eight fours, four sixes), adding 122 runs for the first wicket with Badi Sohail (43) to lay the foundations for Passion’s imposing score of 205 for four. Mubashir Khan (35) and Mohammed Tanveer (22) played their part as well.

Manjrekar then came back to take three wickets as YTCA were bowled out for 165, with the half centuries from Fahad Nawaz (53) and Abdullah Ishaq (51) going in vain.
