All-Korean clash in last eight of Asian Champions League

Seongnam Ilhwa will meet Suwon Bluewings in an all-Korean clash after the draw for the quarter-finals of the 2010 Asian Champions League was made today. Four South Korean sides progressed from the round of 16, meaning there was always likely to be an encounter between two sides from the country in the last eight. It is the first time that four teams from one country have reached the quarter-finals of the tournament and means there is a good chance a Korean side could lift the trophy for the second successive year following Pohang Steelers' triumph in 2009. The defending champions will take on Iranian side Zob Ahan while the final Korean side still in the tournament is Jeonbuk Motors, with the 2006 champions to meet Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia. Fellow Saudis Al Hilal face Qatar's Al Gharafa to complete the quarter-final matches. The first-leg encounters will take place on September 15 with the return leg eight days later. First leg matches: Al Hilal (Ksa) v Al Gharafa (Qat), Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Stadium, Riyadh; Zob Ahan (Irn) v Pohang Steelers (Kor), Foolad Shar Stadium, Esfahan; Jeonbuk Motors (Kor) v Al Shabab (Ksa), Jeonju World Cup Stadium, Jeonju; Seongnam Ilhwa (Kor) v Suwon Bluewings (Kor), Tancheon Sports Complex, Seongnam
