Al Nasr look for more compensation as Nantes bid to overturn Bangoura transfer embargo

Fifa hit the Ligue 2 team with a year's transfer ban and Dh22.4m fine after ruling they poached Ismael Bangoura from the Pro League side.

Al Nasr have asked the Court of Arbitration for Sport to increase the Dh22.4m compensation awarded to them against Nantes following the signing of Ismael Bangoura.

The French side were hit with a transfer embargo for a year after Fifa ruled the club lured Bangoura to break his contract with the Pro League outfit in January last year.

The Ligue 2 side were banned from registering players until January next year, while Bangoura was suspended from football for four months.

Nantes has appealed the decision, asking sport's highest court to overturn the embargo.

But now Al Nasr have countered by asking CAS to increase the compensation the club and player were ordered to pay Walter Zenga's side.

CAS says all three parties appealed FIFA's ruling, and verdicts are expected in "around four months."

The court expects to soon rule on requests by Nantes and Bangoura to freeze sanctions while the case is processed.
