Ajman used to issue some pretty cool sport stamps

In researching the life and career of Eusebio, who died today at 71, we noticed the primary picture on his Wikipedia page is an Ajman stamp with his image from 1968.

Seemed pretty curious at first, but it turns out Ajman regularly issued stamps featuring notable global figures, including sportsmen, until the UAE unified in 1971.

This is by no means complete, but we managed to cobble together a pretty comprehensive collection of Ajman sport stamps, which included footballers, drivers, boxers and even baseball players, from the era.
