Advance tickets for 2017 Dubai World Cup and Meydan racing season go on sale

Horse racing fans in the UAE have the chance to get their 2016/17 Meydan season and 2017 Dubai World Cup tickets in advance after a number of early bird offers were made available.

The Meydan racing season gets underway on Thursday, November 3, while the Dubai World Cup Carnival begins on January 5, 2017. The season then counts down to the Dubai World Cup — the world’s richest day of racing on March 25, 2017.

Those interested in the Dubai World Cup will be able to purchase Apron Views tickets for Dh350 before December 31. Tickets will then increase to Dh450 until March 20, 2017 before going up to Dh600 in the final few days in the lead-up to the event.

General admission tickets are available at the ticket sales office from the first meeting of the season at a cost of Dh15 when purchased before December 31. The price increases to Dh20 until March 20 and will further increase to Dh40 thereafter.

“Every season we aim to provide our guests with an exciting mix of racing entertainment coupled with first-rate hospitality at an attractive price,” Frank Gabriel Jnr, Executive Director of Racing at Dubai Racing Club, said.

“We offer some of the best racing on the international stage at one of the most spectacular venues in the world and it’s all readily accessible in the heart of Dubai. We encourage everyone to come and experience a night of racing at Meydan Racecourse and look forward to welcoming racegoers to our new season.”

Electoral College Victory

Trump has so far secured 295 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press, exceeding the 270 needed to win. Only Nevada and Arizona remain to be called, and both swing states are leaning Republican. Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.

Popular Vote Tally

The count is ongoing, but Trump currently leads with nearly 51 per cent of the popular vote to Harris’s 47.6 per cent. Trump has over 72.2 million votes, while Harris trails with approximately 67.4 million.
