Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club’s main event has full field of 14

The most valuable race on Sunday in Abu Dhabi is the only thoroughbred test on the card, a 1,400-metre handicap that has attracted a full field of 14.

Trainer Satish Seemar is responsible for five contestants, with stable jockey Richard Mullen electing to ride Royal Revival, a course and distance winner in December and a good third when running on strongly in a 1,200m handicap on the turf at Meydan last time.

“You could make a case for all five of ours,” Mullen said. “Royal Revival has been in good form this season, and the return to 1,400m will suit him after a good run over shorter last time.”

The Doug Watson yard sends out stable jockey Pat Dobbs aboard Life Partner, his fourth start in the UAE and first on turf, a surface on which he won twice in England.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed owns four of the runners. Retained jockeys Paul Hanagan and Dane O’Neill will ride Marmoom and Tanseeb, respectively.
