She is a molecular biologist who received a Fulbright scholarship to do a doctorate in the US, has lectured at Yale, the University of Cambridge and has a fellowship at Harvard. As a social entrepreneur she started the We Love Reading programme in Jordan that now operates in more than 55 countries across the world. She speaks to host Amina Taher about how she was unable to study at Cambridge when offered a place there and how – a marriage and four children later – she was eventually able to pursue her dream.

Electoral College Victory
Trump has so far secured 295 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press, exceeding the 270 needed to win. Only Nevada and Arizona remain to be called, and both swing states are leaning Republican. Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.
