Time to get serious

Every December, people start thinking seriously about resolutions for the new year. Perhaps it is the overindulgence of the holiday season or maybe it is the winter blues that keep some of us from exercising and living the healthy life that we all aspire to. Whatever the reason, we are all motivated for an easy fix that will get us back on track in the new year.

The problem is that we are quick to lose motivation. We get excited in January about our resolutions and, before you know it, the momentum is gone in two months. New gym memberships might sky rocket in December but come March many people have stopped working out.

So this year, embrace the last week of December. Don’t be so hard on yourself about a little indulgence and come January 1 get ready to embrace sensible resolutions that can keep you going throughout the year. Having a healthy, fit and sustainable lifestyle is all about moderation and achievable goals.
