The UK-India relationship is well worth cherishing

I write in reference to your article Britain has failed to strengthen relationship with India, says new report (June 24). Shafi Musaddique's article was a very good read. Compared to other countries, India is not enjoying an especially good relationship with Britain today, as the new report states. Britain's lack of interest in developing a good relationship with the government of Narendra Modi will do it no favours as New Delhi enhances its huge potential and power across the globe, with Mr Modi steering the ship. I am of the view that Britain should rethink its strategy on India with regards to bilateral trade, education and tourism. This is an important international relationship for both countries that should be cherished.

The UAE is right to call for calm on conflict with Iran

I write in reference to your article US-Iran tensions remain high as UAE calls for de-escalation (June 24). The de-escalation call by the UAE is commendable and very balanced, as war with Iran would not achieve anything worthwhile. Being a neighbour of Iran, the UAE is more familiar with its problems and threats than other nations that are far away. Let's hope for peace in the region, and Iran should support the UAE in achieving this.

Iran should cut off support to the Houthi rebels

I write in reference to your article UAE condemns deadly Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia's Abha airport (June 24).  Iran should and must control the Houthi rebels by stopping the supply of deadly weapons and money, as the rebels appear to be incapable of differentiating between civilian and a military targets. Why attack Abha airport in Saudi Arabia? The Houthis know they will never enter kingdom and their wanton attacks are meaningless and foolish. They will only cause Yemen's dreadful war to continue.

There is a miscalculation at the heart of Kushner’s plan

I write in reference to your article Boycotting Bahrain conference a strategic error, says Jared Kushner (June 25). For people who profess to love their country so much, how can they be so blind to the fact that others love their country too much to be bought?
