I write to you in reference to Emma Day's report Coronavirus: where to buy face masks and gloves online in the UAE (April 5): as someone who pulled through Covid-19, please take all precautions and adhere to them. It is a brutal virus and no wonder some people die. The fever was the most intense I have ever had. It's such high fever that it brings on delusions, body aches, sleepless nights, throbbing head aches, dehydration and fatigue. Night time is when the so called beast comes out. I don't wish this on anyone. Stay home, remember to maintain social distancing and wear your personal protective equipment.

The urgent need to develop vaccines

This is regarding Shelina Janmohamed's excellent article No vaccine yet for Covid-19 but let's fight the despair (April 2). She has rightly pointed out that in these times of crisis, the best in human beings also emerges. However, there is an urgent and critical need for scientists and world leaders to find a vaccine to cure coronavirus. This should be the top agenda for medical research institutes across the world. All the winners of the Nobel Prizes for physics' and chemistry should get together for his purpose and help mankind across the world.

Distance learning: there are many points of view to consider 

In reference to the National Editorial The UAE has an opportunity to make distance learning a success (April 5): I find it very convenient. I don't need to struggle to find a home relatively close to the school so won't be paying a lot for transportation. I support distance learning. There are so many different perspectives on this.

With reference to Selina Denman's report 'It's a shock to all of us': UAE parents on the realities of homeschooling their children (April 3): if children were familiar with online learning before the coronavirus, this period of temporary home schooling would have been an opportunity to build on that. At the moment, it is a struggle.
