With reference to your article Generalisations about women in politics don't hold true (August 13), Rashmee Roshan Lall's meaningful and thought-provoking article analysed articulately how women's roles in the political arena play out globally today.

Women are setting an example in the political sphere but it’s worth remembering that good leadership speaks for itself and has no gender bias. A great read.

Opening up a holy site shows Netanyahu is not fit to rule

With reference to your story Israeli right wing's poll threat forced Netanyahu backtrack on Al Aqsa (August 13), regarding the Israeli prime minister's decision to override the security proposal not to let non-Muslims into the holy site on Eid Al Adha, it is time for him to go.

He is not fit to be in power in a civilised world and his presence is causing people unbearable tragedy.

Parents need educational tools as well as their children

I was interested in your story Let me Google that: UAE parents forced to turn to the internet to understand children's school work (August 12) about a study of more than 15,000 parents that found many struggle with maths, science and geography. I am not surprised by this at all. Many parents who were not educated to a high level cannot assist their children without outside help. I suspect a lot of teachers rely on Google too – it's not just parents doing this.
