Difficult exams fill Twitter

Eleventh grade students in Abu Dhabi stormed Twitter this week with comments and complaints of how difficult their biology examinations were this year. Some raised the possibility that fasting was the reason for the exam’s difficulty. Others argued that the exam writers were out of sync with their students.

Most students, however, criticised how the questions in the exam were different from the ones they were given in study preparation. One student said he did not know which questions to solve and which questions to ignore. He said that all of his studying amounted to nothing because of the unexpected difficulty of the test.

The entire social media debate promoted some users to poke fun at all those complaining about the examination’s difficultly.

A video was shared by some users depicting a group of young men in a car raising their hands so as to appear to be praying with all their heart to pass the exam.

Still more users shared a cartoon that showed a person holding a box of tissues and offering to all the students upset about the exam and their results. The cartoon’s caption read: “Take tissues, don’t cry.”
