President Sheikh Mohamed on Tuesday welcomed the recipients of the 2025 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, along with members of the award’s judging committee, at an awards ceremony in Abu Dhabi.

Among the winners of the award, whose recipients share a $1 million prize, were World Central Kitchen (WCK), Prime Minister of Barbados and climate change champion Mia Amor Mottley and 15-year-old health innovator Heman Bekele.

During the meeting at Qasr Al Bahr, Sheikh Mohamed congratulated the winners, commending their initiatives and contributions to humanitarian endeavours, state news agency Wam reported. He also thanked the members of the judging committee.

He said the award’s values are essential to fostering stability and peace within societies. The award winners and jury members expressed their appreciation to Sheikh Mohamed in return.

The award is given to any person, group or organisation from any walk of life that works to further peaceful coexistence anywhere in the world. It was established on February 4, 2019, to mark the meeting between Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Ahmed Al Tayeb in Abu Dhabi.
