A large fire that broke out at Dubai's Barasti Beach bar on Monday morning has been brought under control. Video footage circulating online showed thick plumes of smoke billowing into the sky. Firefighters were called to the scene and quickly contained the blaze. The cause of the fire has yet to be established, however, a statement from Le Meridien Mina Seyahi said "It was an isolated incident and was brought quickly under control and caused no injuries. "We are fully operational and the only closed areas are the pool and beach areas." Nobody was injured as a result of the fire. The sprawling beach spot, which first opened its doors about 30 years ago, is part of the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi, Beach Resort and Marina. “Please be advised that our pool and beach area will be closed until further notice,” Barasti said on Instagram. “Our restaurant and summer tent will be fully operational as per our usual business hours.” Dubai Civil Defence was contacted for comment.
