The Israeli army said it would work "immediately and strongly" against its targets, in a statement on social media platform X. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) previously told The National that Palestinians had not been given enough warning to evacuate areas of Gaza. Such instructions have to "reach people in a timely manner", spokesman for the ICRC Hisham Mhanna said. "They have to be clear in a sense that people can receive them in time and understand them. There have to be clear, safe pathways given to the people, with clear timing," he said. Most people in the north do not have internet connectivity and could struggle to receive evacuation orders unless they have been issued clearly on the ground. A Palestinian man was killed alongside his wife and son in the Tuffah neighbourhood, in eastern Gaza city, when their apartment was struck on Wednesday morning, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. Several citizens were injured in shelling to the east of Al Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip. They were taken to the overcrowded Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al Balah, close the scene of other Israeli air strikes. Israeli warships also struck near Nuseirat camp in the centre of the strip, while planes hit a residential home on Salah Al Deen street at the camp's entrance. Artillery shells struck Tal Al Hawa and Al Zeitoun neighbourhoods in Gaza city. In the south, Israel struck Khan Younis and Rafah. In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces bombed Fatah offices in Balata camp, east of Nablus, and arrested Palestinians in Qalandiya, Qalqilya, Bethlehem and Aqaba camps. The UN has said satellite images show more 60 per cent of Gaza's buildings have been either damaged or destroyed – including 10,100 in Rafah city alone – as of July 6. Cases of malnutrition in northern Gaza, meanwhile, increased 300 per cent in July compared to the previous month.
