Y-3, Yohji Yamamoto's line with adidas, delivered one of our favourite looks this week: a light coat over a tie-dye style tee, paired with athletic trousers with a metallic sheen. It's fashion's future: a return to simplicity. Seven drummers energetically banged away as models walked criss-cross across a vast warehouse-like space. The lights flashed furiously. The presentation was offbeat, but the clothes were easy. And accessible. The shorts-over-trousers look continues, after its first appearance in the Pitti Uomo shows in June. Even when Yamamoto introduced complications to the clothes, they remained undemanding. You think the camo trend is old news until you see Yamamoto's abstraction.
