The Salvatore Ferragamo spring/summer 2016 runway show took place yesterday at Milan Fashion Week. Classic black and white stripes were given a new season update, incorporated with pleats and colour pops on strapless and off-the-shoulder dresses. Some stripes were placed alongside tiers and ruffles too, showing a vibrant array of three dimensional textures.
Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti was anything but stingy in his use of bows, which were also ever present, making frequent appearances on slitted dresses, the cuffs of tapered trousers and shoulder straps. Leathers were given a youthful flair, designed with cut-outs, gathered sleeves and paper bag waists.
Styling was on point, with traditional and onyx pearl jewellery decorating the necks and ears of models. The current lace-up shoe craze also looks like it will last until next year’s summer season and we’re sure many shoe lovers will want to get a hold of the Ferragamo yellow and lavender renditions.
