Meet the fellows

Nour Ibrahim
Nour is a 2025-26 mental health journalism fellow and is a social media journalist at The National. She plans to document how young people in the UAE are turning to AI for emotional support, including chatbots, journaling apps and companions

Ghenwa Yehia
Ghenwa is a 2025-26 mental health journalism fello. She writes a column for Khaleej Times wknd magazine, where she covers mental health issues and how they intersect with everyday life. Her fellowship project work will explore the emotional and ethical impact of 'grief tech'

Abeer Khan
Abeer was a mental health journalism fellow from 2023-24 and works for Al Arabiya, where she contributed features on the lived realities of expatriate fathers working far away from their families and natural support networks

Jenna Kleinwort
Jenna was a 2022-23 mental health journalism fellow. She previously covered business and social affairs as a video reporter at 7DNews in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Her work has also been broadcast on Bahrain TV and German channels, including ZDF

Amandeep Bhangu
Amandeep was a 2021-22 mental health journalism fellow. She worked for BBC TV News for a decade before moving to the UAE. She has since freelanced as a presenter, reporter and filmmaker for a host of major broadcasters
