Old theatre in Tripoli reopens its doors after 28-year closure - in pictures

The Ampere Cinema was renovated by 25 volunteers over eight months

The cinema had been closed for 28 years and was renovated by 25 volunteers over eight months.

The project was initiated by Tiro Association for Arts and Istanbouli Theatre, which had already renovated another three cinemas and theatre halls in southern Lebanon.

Ampere Cinema is now the oldest working cinema in the country.
