The home-grown obstacle course race will take place at Al Marmoom District in Al Qudra Lakes on Friday, February 14, and warriors can look forward to a series of fun yet challenging hurdles that will require them to run, climb, jump and work together as a team "in order to survive". Some of its most popular obstacles are The 1/4 Pipe, The Beast and The Monster, although the event promises some exciting surprises as well. Dubai's Desert Warrior Challenge is the biggest in the Emirates, with an expected footfall of 4,000. The course is suitable for all fitness levels, from amateurs to pro athletes. Ticket prices start at $90 (Dh330) for the Fearless Warrior course (five kilometres with 12 obstacles) and $102 for the ultimate warrior course (10km with 22 obstacles). Little ones won't be left out, either – there's always the Junior Warrior races for children six and above. If you want an idea of what you can expect, it's not too late to sign up for the Ras Al Khaimah version of the event, set to take place on Friday, November 8. Other than the usual challenges, the coming Desert Warrior Challenge on Al Marjan Island promises to thrill with the longest unharnessed zip line in the world. Prices (on the day of the event) start at $37/$50 for the Junior Warrior course and $124 for the Fearless Warrior course. Think you have what it takes? There’s only one way to find out.
