The Trevi Fountain is back in business
Rome’s famous Trevi Fountain started flowing again earlier this week after a 16-month clean-up funded by the Italian fashion house Fendi. The almost-300-year-old monument, visited by millions of tourists each year, began to fall apart after winter 2012, which prompted the repairs. Since then, Dh8.8 million of work was put into the restoration efforts, and on Tuesday, the fountain, which was commissioned by Pope Clement XII in 1730, had emerald waters gushing through it once again.
