The global pandemic has disrupted travel around the world and many people have had holidays and flights cancelled as a result. On the 40th World Tourism Day, which falls on September 27, Dubai hotel group Rove is aiming to brighten some spirits by giving away free getaways to UAE residents who have seen their travel plans impacted by the coronavirus. To boost people's moods on World Tourism Day, in a year that has handed the travel industry perhaps its greatest challenge to date, Rove Hotels is giving away 40 staycations free of charge. UAE residents who were unable to travel on a planned trip this year can apply for one of the overnight stays, which will take place at any one of the hotel group's seven locations. You could stay for free at Rove Downtown, which has amazing views of the Burj Khalifa or perhaps at Rove Dubai Marina, where you'll be within walking distance of the beach. For thrill-seekers, Rove at the Park offers rooms right next to the theme parks of Dubai Parks and Resorts, while Rove La Mer Beach is just a pebble throw from the Jumeirah attraction. If you were supposed to travel this year and had to cancel, you are eligible to enter to win a free stay via the hotel group's Instagram account. Residents must follow @Rovehotels and send a direct message detailing the trip that was curtailed, including cancellation confirmation or booking forms. This can be for any trip that was supposed to happen in 2020. Entries are accepted until Saturday, October 3, and those who are chosen, will be able to use their stay voucher until the end of the month. If you haven't had a trip cancelled but are still craving a getaway, there is currently up to 40 per cent off rates at Rove hotels until Thursday, October 1, as well as discounts on breakfast. Stays start from Dh99 per night at Rove at the Park, but vary depending on the property.
