As the date for when travellers can enter Dubai gets closer, more airlines are resuming passengers services to the UAE. The latest announcement comes from Lufthansa. The German airline is set to operate its first flight from Frankfurt to Dubai on July 5. From that date, Lufthansa will operate three return flights to Dubai per week from the airline's hub in Germany. Flights will leave Dubai on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and return to the UAE on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Economy class return fares from Dubai to Frankfurt start from Dh2,295. The airline has implemented new flying rules to help protect passenger and crew from the coronavirus. These include compulsory face masks and gloves which must be worn both at airports and for the duration of all flights. Social distancing guidelines must be followed wherever possible. Travellers should also be aware that most carry-on luggage has been restricted, but can be checked-in free of charge with hold luggage. Lufthansa advises passengers travelling to Dubai to download the Covid-19 DXB smart app on to their mobile phones and to fill out a health declaration from when entering and leaving the emirates. For outbound passengers, arrival at Dubai International Airport is advised four hours ahead of flight times, but not earlier. Passengers should also reconfirm which terminal flights are departing from before travelling to the airport. British Airways, Air France and KLM have also announced they will begin flying passengers into the emirates in July, with tourists welcome in Dubai from July 7.
