Looking to splash out and treat your loved one to a staycation this Valentine’s Day? We’ve rounded up 10 of the most opulent suites in the UAE.
The St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort Abu Dhabi's duplex Royal Suite is one of the UAE's largest, at 2,100 square metres. Opened in 2013, it features up to four bedrooms, a 12-seater dining room, a mini cinema and a private rooftop terrace. Rates from about Dh114,000 per night including taxest.
The two-bedroom duplex Royal Suite at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai is 780 square metres and features a magnificent staircase, cinema and private lift. There are two separate lounges and separate bathrooms downstairs for guests, and a grand pre-function area. Rates from about Dh80,000 per night including taxes.
The three-bedroom Palace Suite at Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi is so luxurious it can be divided into several smaller suites. A total of 680 square metres, it offers a majlis area, private dining facilities, a lounge, balcony and terrace. Rates from about Dh62,000 per night including taxes.
The Abu Dhabi Suite at the St Regis Abu Dhabi is suspended at the "bridge" level of the hotel, at the 48th and 49th floors. There's 1,120 square metres of space, including three bedrooms, three full-size bathrooms, a maid's room and large lounge for entertaining. From about Dh41,000 per night including taxes.
While the largest room at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, Abu Dhabi is the three-bedroom Anantara family villa, at 238 square metres, the most luxurious are the Royal Pavilion Villas, which are in their own wing of the resort 1km from the main building. The 92-square-metre villas cost from Dh4,500 per night and have one bedroom, a separate living room and dining and cooking area, private outdoor terrace and plunge pool and al fresco dining area.
The Royal Mangroves Residence, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara, Abu Dhabi, is probably the largest in the UAE at present by virtue of the fact that the number of interconnecting king-size bedrooms can range from three to 10, giving it a total area – depending on how many bedrooms are booked – of between 1,355 square metres and 2,455 square metres. The top-floor space has a rooftop garden, terrace and its own 50-metre infinity pool, plus a private entrance, lift and security room. From Dh40,000 per night.
The floorplan of the 530-square-metre Presidential Suite at Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai looks, at first, like that of a self-contained resort. It has three bedrooms with custom-made beds, handcrafted furniture, a private swimming pool and staff quarters. And adding still more space is the 225-square-kilometre protected desert reserve outside. From Dh12,500 a night.
The two-storey Sir Winston Churchill Suite at the St Regis Dubai, a three-bedroom penthouse of 914 square metres, is unusually grandiose thanks to its high ceilings and dramatic staircase. The suite comprises a 12-seat dining room, private lift, majlis and private plunge pool. From Dh75,000 per night.
On the top floor of The Palace Downtown Dubai offering direct views of the Dubai Fountain and the Burj Khalifa, the 500-square-metre Imperial Suite offers great accommodation for a family, with four bedrooms over two floors, two living rooms, two dining rooms, two study rooms and two terraces, a pantry, Jacuzzi and eight interactive TV stations. From about DH20,000 per night including taxes.
In The Manor Grand Palm Suite at One&Only The Palm Dubai, interior designers have gone wild with a 250-square-metre penthouse, including a private sun deck and outdoor terrace with majlis-style seating. Round-the-clock personalised service is available. The one-bedroom suite can easily be expanded by booking interconnecting rooms. From Dh19,000 per night including taxes.
