A new yet retro beach club will be opening up in Dubai this year and we have the people behind The Pointe's food hall Social Distrikt to thank for that. Limestone Lab, a self-described "experience-driven" hospitality group, has announced the launch of Peaches & Cream, a beach club and chill-out lounge with 1980s-inspired vibes. It aims to combine Barbra Streisand tunes with 1980s Miami on the shores of modern Palm Jumeirah, and will open within the first half of this year. No exact date has been revealed yet. It's not only a beach club, but also a Mediterranean restaurant, bar, outdoor lounge and pool area, plus a retail element. You can expect a bold colour palette that encompasses pops of pink, green, blue and yellow. References within the interiors are made to Dutch painter Piet Mondrian's cubic designs, while the restaurant houses suede sofas among its sleek finishings. High-rise tables, swings and "whimsical" decor will set the mood outside, while a boutique clothing store filled with beachwear and beachy brands will sit next to the bar. The day to night transition will be distinctive and marked via mood lighting. Beyond the bar, there's a 300,000-square-foot stretch of beach, plus a pool and candy-coloured sunbeds. The restaurant will serve fresh seafood, meat and vegan dishes, catering to all tastes and dietary requirements. Why 1980s Miami, one might ask? "Our market research showed that most beach clubs are inspired by countries such as Bali and the Maldives, in order to provide a relaxing place to get away," Limestone Lab founders Hassan Ballout and Hani Dweik told The National. "We identified this gap in the market, and conceptualised Peaches & Cream as a more upbeat and unique concept for Dubai to enjoy." The pair of entrepreneurs are on a mission to launch a number of "unique concepts" within the market, including Social Distrikt, which opened in mid-January. They're currently developing 10 new venues to launch within the next two to four years, with three to open in 2022. Besides Social Distrikt and Peaches & Cream, details for the third are under wraps. "We are thrilled to be reinventing proven concepts to bring all-new experiences to life," they said.
