Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married on Thursday in a secret ceremony in New York. The Hollywood star – known for her work in films such as Marriage Story, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and The Avengers – and her husband of Saturday Night Live fame used their celebrity status to shine the spotlight on a worthy cause. The pair asked the long-running US organisation Meals on Wheels to announce their nuptials. The charity has been operating since 1969 to provide meals and end isolation for housebound senior citizens across the country. "We're thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married at the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and love ones" the non-profit said on Instagram on Thursday. Supporting thousands of community-based initiatives across the US, the charity delivers meals to elderly people as well as helping organisations conduct safety checks on senior citizens living alone. Meals on Wheels used a picture of the Staten Island Ferry emblazoned with the word's 'Jost Married' - a play on Johansson's new husband's surname - to break the wedding news. The organisation also asked followers to consider donating to the cause to “celebrate the happy couple.” While few details about the ceremony were revealed, Johansson and Jost tied the knot while adhering to all Covid-19 safety precautions, said the non-profit. The couple sealed their relationship with vows after dating for around three years. Jost proposed to the Marvel star in May 2019. It's the 35-year-old's third marriage – she was previously married to Ryan Reynolds for three years, and then to French businessman Romain Dauriac with whom she has a daughter. This is Jost's first marriage.
