The feature is the latest in a number of changes Instagram has made recently to try to improve the platform and protect its users. Last month, it launched a trial to <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/lifestyle/instagram-tests-hiding-like-count-in-a-bid-to-remove-pressure-1.887653">hide like count</a> from users in certain countries, while earlier this year it announced a <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/lifestyle/instagram-is-finally-cracking-down-on-fake-followers-and-likes-1.794162">crackdown on fake followers</a>.
