DENMARK // Boutique car manufacturer Zenvo Automotive has revealed details of its new supercar, the ST1. The Danish car maker believes the ST1 will be a serious rival to the Bugatti Veyron when production begins next year, although only 15 examples will be built. The ST1 will be powered by a supercharged and turbocharged 7-litre V8 engine which will develop 1,104 horsepower and 1,430nM of torque. The manufacturer reports its preliminary testing of the car was "acceptable" after it returned figures of 0-100 kph in 3.2 seconds and 0-200 kph in 8.9 seconds. By comparison, the Veyron accelerates to 100 kph in 2.5 seconds.

Safety 'top priority' for rival hyperloop company
The chief operating officer of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, Andres de Leon, said his company's hyperloop technology is “ready” and safe.
He said the company prioritised safety throughout its development and, last year, Munich Re, one of the world's largest reinsurance companies, announced it was ready to insure their technology.
“Our levitation, propulsion, and vacuum technology have all been developed [...] over several decades and have been deployed and tested at full scale,” he said in a statement to The National.
“Only once the system has been certified and approved will it move people,” he said.
HyperloopTT has begun designing and engineering processes for its Abu Dhabi projects and hopes to break ground soon.
With no delivery date yet announced, Mr de Leon said timelines had to be considered carefully, as government approval, permits, and regulations could create necessary delays.
